SOUTHERN OUTER BANGKOK RING ROAD, INTER-CITY MOTORWAY PROJECT, PHASE I (SOBRR)

Project works are divided into 2 phases, i.e. Phase I, Engineering and Economic Feasibility Study including Environmental Impact Assessment of the whole project alignment of about 35 kilometer motorway from the Western Outer Bangkok Ring Road (non toll) on Thonburi-Pak Tho Highway to eastward crossing Chao Phraya River to join the Eastern Outer Bangkok Ring Road (toll) on Bang Na-Trat Highway and Phase II, survey and detailed design only for the portion from Suksawat Road to
Bang Na-Trat Highway which is approximately 21 kilometers long.

Detailed Description of Actual Services provided :

Scope of Phase I Services

  • Survey and study of alternative alignments especially at the river crossing
  • Traffic survey and modelling
  • Recommendation of appropriate sub-soil improvement methods
  • Comparison of long span bridges, i.e. cable stayed and suspension bridges
  • Comparison of various cross sections of bored and immersed tunnels
  • Recommendation of river crossing structures, i.e. bridge or tunnel
  • Environmental Impact Assessment for both bridge and tunnel
  • Economic and Financial Evaluations
  • Toll System Study
  • Investment Schemes and Implementation Plans
