SELECTION OF PRIVATE PARTICIPATION IN THE EXTENSIONS OF THE BANGKOK MASS TRANSIT SYSTEM PROJECT (BTSX)

   

The project consists of the 3-line extensions of The Bangkok Mass Transit System, i.e.,

  • Silom Extension Line - crossing the Chao Phraya River to Tak Sin Road - the length of 2.2 kilometers,
  • Sukhumvit Extension Line – from On Nuch to Sam Rong – the length of 8.9 kilometers, and
  • Rama III Extension Line – from Station S3 (Chong Nonsee) to Sathu Pradit – the length of 8.5 kilometers.

Detailed Description of Actual Services provided :

Prepared the following Tender Documents: “Terms of Reference”; “Conditions of Agreement”; “Invitation to Tender”; “Instruction to Proposal”; including “Evaluation Criteria and Evaluation Report” for the Design-Build-Transfer-Operate of the captioned project, so as to comply with the “Act of Private Participation in Public Undertaking, B.E. 2535 (1992)” and “The Ministerial Regulation (B.E. 2537)” issued under the above Act.  The qualified private firms were invited to submit the proposals for this project, but no one showed interest.

The project feasibility study was carried out before the economic crisis, the results therein wer revealed to be unrealistic and not consistent to the current conditions.  The Consultant therefore reviewed the feasibility study and reported the results of analysis to BMA.
